I had forgotten about Archie comics. I never read comics much, but even I knew about Archie!

Dang, that Archie is a wild man when he gets all excited. Two of those guys he beat off got black eyes! How the hell did that happen????

The Archie-Jesus imagery (walking on water) is kind of unsettling given that he's holding a babe and just beat off the other guys.

I remember getting one issue of an Archie comic as a kid, but it was after the author had really gotten into religion. It read like a Jack Chick tract.
